Secondary Schools To Reopen on 4th August. The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared that secondary schools across the country should resume on the 4th of August, 2020.
The government noted that the resumption is only for those in examination (exit) classes.
Students have two weeks to prepare for the West African Examinations (WAEC) which is set to start on the 17th of August, 2020.
The Federal Ministry of Education, Honourable Commissioners of Education of di 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT), the proprietors of private schools, and Chief Executives of examination bodies agreed on this decision in a virtual meeting.
The government noted that examination classes resume immediately after the Sallah break to make the student prepare ahead for the WAEC examination that is set to commence on the 17th of August.
